How to fix it

1. Update the Create mod (and any Create add-ons) to the latest version newer than 6.0.10, which includes the upstream fix for centered contraption hitbox collisions.
2. If you are using the ZombieAwareness mod on an affected Create version, disable or remove ZombieAwareness, as the invisible scent and sound entities it spawns on blocks regularly sit at the center of newly built contraptions.
3. Keep players, mobs, and dropped items clear of the middle of bearings, pulleys, and drills when assembling a contraption or changing speed on a Rotation Speed Controller.
4. If your server or singleplayer world crashes immediately upon loading, run /kill @e[type=!player,distance=..32] from the server console as the world loads (or use an NBT editor to delete nearby non-player entities around the contraption) to break the crash loop.
