Mod conflictsEnhanced Block Entities Crash When Rendering Animated Block Entities ("model" is null)
What it looks like in the log
java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke "net.minecraft.class_1087.method_4707(net.minecraft.class_2680, net.minecraft.class_2350, net.minecraft.
How to fix it
- Update Enhanced Block Entities (EBE) and Sodium to their latest compatible releases for your Minecraft version.
- If you are running Sodium 0.5.x or older (such as Sodium 0.4.4 on Minecraft 1.19.2), install the Indium mod alongside Fabric API so Sodium supports Fabric's rendering hooks used by EBE.
- If the crash specifically happens when ringing a bell, open `config/enhanced_bes.properties` in your Minecraft folder (or open EBE's settings via Mod Menu) and set `render_enhanced_bells=false` to let vanilla handle bell animations.
- Disable custom resource packs that alter bell, chest, or sign models, or press F3 + T after loading into the Menu to force EBE to rebuild its dynamic model cache.
