How to fix it

  1. Open your `logs/latest.log` file and search for `Found a broken recipe:` right above the `IllegalArgumentException` to see the exact recipe ID and the mod that owns it (for example, `create:compat/upgrade_aquatic/...`).
  2. Update the mod responsible for the recipe as well as any target compatibility mods mentioned in the recipe path, as mod authors routinely patch outdated cross-mod item IDs.
  3. If the broken recipe comes from a custom datapack, KubeJS script, or CraftTweaker script, check that script for typos in item IDs and ensure it does not output `minecraft:air`.
  4. If the game runs normally and you do not need that specific recipe, you can safely ignore this log error—JEI automatically hides the broken recipe so you can keep playing.
