Missing Sodium or Embeddium Dependency (MemoryIntrinsics NoClassDefFoundError)

How to fix it

  1. If you are playing on Forge 1.20.1 with Oculus (such as Oculus 1.8.0), download and install the latest version of Embeddium for Minecraft 1.20.1, which provides the required Sodium API classes on Forge.
  2. Remove Rubidium if it is in your mods folder, as newer versions of Oculus require Embeddium and will crash with older Rubidium builds that lack the net.caffeinemc MemoryIntrinsics API.
  3. If you are using Sinytra Connector on Forge 1.20.1, do not install the Fabric jar of Sodium; keep Embeddium installed to satisfy Sodium API dependencies.
  4. If you are playing on Fabric or NeoForge 1.21+, install official Sodium (or update both Sodium and Iris/rendering add-ons to matching releases for your Minecraft version).
