Launcher problemsFabric Crash: Could Not Create Directory (Windows Path on Linux)
What it looks like in the log
java.lang.RuntimeException: Could not create directory /mnt/transfer/Games/Minecraft/<duong-dan>
How to fix it
- Open your Minecraft launcher, delete the existing Iris profile migrated from Windows, and delete the old versions/iris-fabric-loader-* folder inside your Minecraft directory.
- Check your launcher profile's JVM Arguments and Game Directory settings and remove any -Dfabric.addMods argument or path pointing to C:\Users\....
- Install a standard Fabric Loader profile natively on Linux and put the Iris and Sodium .jar files directly into your mods folder instead of using the standalone installer on a shared drive.
- If you prefer to re-run the Iris Standalone Installer natively on Linux and it crashes in the terminal on Fedora/Wayland, install the full non-headless OpenJDK package (for example: sudo dnf install java-21-openjdk) before running java -jar Iris-Installer.jar.
