How to fix it

  1. Make sure your Iris Shaders and Sodium versions are built for each other; if you installed a Sodium beta release (for example, Sodium 0.8.13-beta with Iris 1.10.7), downgrade Sodium to the exact stable release Iris expects.
  2. Remove crash-intercepting mods such as Not Enough Crashes, then launch the game again so Minecraft can generate a crash report showing the true underlying mod error.
  3. Open your .minecraft/logs/latest.log file and scroll up just above the crash report to find the first ERROR or Exception logged right before the world disconnected.
  4. If you use rendering add-ons alongside Iris such as Entity Model Features (EMF) or Entity Texture Features (ETF), update them to versions matching your exact Minecraft and Iris release or temporarily remove them to test.
