How to fix it

  1. Make sure you have an active internet connection and launch the instance in Online Mode at least once so the launcher can download the missing Forge or NeoForge installer files.
  2. In Prism Launcher (or similar MultiMC-based launchers), edit the instance, go to the Version tab, select Forge or NeoForge, and click 'Refresh' or 'Download All' to force-fetch missing metadata and libraries.
  3. Update your launcher to the latest release so it pulls the newest ForgeWrapper version needed for recent NeoForge releases (1.21.6 and newer).
  4. If the error persists on an existing instance, right-click the instance, edit it, remove the Forge/NeoForge component in the Version tab, and re-add it while connected to the internet.
