java.lang.IllegalStateException: Pose stack not empty

What the log looks like

java\.lang\.IllegalStateException: Pose stack not empty

How to fix it

  1. Open logs/latest.log and look just above the crash report for any earlier ERROR or Exception lines, which frequently reveal the exact mod that failed mid-render before the pose stack check triggered.
  2. If your crash report mentions net.digitalingot.rustextension (Feather Client), test your mods in a standard launcher like Prism Launcher or the official Minecraft Launcher, or disable Feather's built-in visual and animation overlays.
  3. If you are using Sodium 0.5.x or older with mods that add custom block models or animations, install Indium (do not install Indium with Sodium 0.6.0 or newer, as Fabric Rendering API support is already built in).
  4. Match the crash to the exact in-game action that triggered it: if it happens while searching items in REI, disable addons like Roughly Searchable; if it happens when a piston or block entity animates, update or remove mods that alter block animations.
  5. If latest.log shows no earlier errors, disable half of your client-side visual, HUD, and rendering mods at a time (binary search) until you isolate the conflicting mod.
