Mod conflictsIris Crash: Missing elements in vertex: mc_midTexCoord, at_tangent
What the log looks like
java\.lang\.IllegalStateException: Missing elements in vertex: mc_midTexCoord, at_tangent
How to fix it
- Look at the lines directly below `BufferBuilder` in your crash log to identify the conflicting rendering mod, which is almost always ImmediatelyFast (`net.raphimc.immediatelyfast`) or Essential (`gg.essential`).
- Update Iris, Sodium, and ImmediatelyFast (or Essential) so every mod matches your exact Minecraft patch version rather than mixing builds across minor updates.
- If `immediatelyfast` is in the stack trace and updating does not stop the crash when pausing or opening your inventory, edit `config/immediatelyfast.json` to disable HUD/GUI batching, or remove ImmediatelyFast while using shaders.
- If `gg.essential` is in the stack trace, relaunch the game (a warm shader cache often prevents the initialization race condition) or disable Essential 3D cosmetics while shaderpacks are enabled.
