Mod conflictsIris Crash: Iris.getPipelineManager() is null During Game Initialization
What the log looks like
java\.lang\.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke "net\.coderbot\.iris\.pipeline\.PipelineManager\.getPipeline\(\)" because the return value of "net\.coderbot\.iris\.Iris\.getPipelineManager\(\)" is null
How to fix it
- Remove the Not Enough Crashes (or Crash Assistant/similar crash-handler) mod from your mods folder so Minecraft stops immediately at the real startup error.
- Check if you are running Minecraft 1.17 with an older version of Iris (such as 1.1.x) alongside standalone Sodium; older 1.17 Iris builds already bundle Sodium, so remove the separate Sodium jar or update both Iris and Sodium to their latest matching versions for your Minecraft version.
- Launch the game again without Not Enough Crashes and open logs/latest.log to see the actual mod entrypoint or dependency error that interrupted startup.
- If you recently added or updated mods before this started, remove the newly added mods in batches until the game launches cleanly.
