Wrong Minecraft version

Iris & Sodium Crash: No uniform block exists with name: ubo_DrawParameters

What it looks like in the log

java.lang.NullPointerException: No uniform block exists with name: ubo_DrawParameters

How to fix it

  1. Open your .minecraft/mods folder and delete both your existing Iris jar and Sodium jar, especially any outdated custom 'IRIS' builds of Sodium (such as sodium-fabric-...+IRIS...).
  2. Download the latest matching official releases of both Sodium and Iris Shaders for your exact Minecraft version from Modrinth or CurseForge (current Iris versions use standard Sodium releases rather than custom forks).
  3. Check your mods folder for cross-version utility mods like an older build of Not Enough Crashes (for example, a 1.16.5 jar inside a 1.17.1 instance) and remove or update them.
  4. Launch Minecraft and join your world; if you still crash with a specific shader pack active, open Options > Video Settings > Shader Packs from the main menu and switch to another pack or disable shaders before loading the world.
