Mod conflictsjava.lang.NullPointerException: Rendering item
What the log looks like
java\.lang\.NullPointerException: Rendering item
Description: Rendering item[\r\n]+java\.lang\.NullPointerException: Rendering item
How to fix it
- Open the crash report, scroll down to the `-- Item being rendered --` section, and check the `Item Type:` line to identify the exact item or block causing the crash.
- If you use Sodium 0.5.x or older on Fabric (Minecraft 1.20.1 and earlier), install the Indium mod so mods with custom block or item models (such as Better Bookshelves) can render without crashing.
- If `Item Type:` reads `null` while crafting or browsing JEI/REI/EMI, remove or fix the recently added mod, datapack, or CraftTweaker/KubeJS script that registered an invalid recipe output.
- If `Item Type:` names a specific item, disable resource packs or Custom Item Textures (CIT) mods that alter that item's model, or update/remove the mod that adds or modifies it.
