Mod conflictsRubidium Crash: TextureAtlasSprite "sprite" is null in FluidRenderer
What it looks like in the log
java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke "net.minecraft.client.renderer.texture.TextureAtlasSprite.m_118367_(double)" because "sprite" is null
How to fix it
- Open your Minecraft `mods` folder and delete `rubidium-mc1.20.1-0.7.1.jar`.
- Install Embeddium for Forge 1.20.1 as a drop-in replacement for Rubidium; it fixes the null fluid overlay bug and works with Oculus and Flywheel.
- Update Oculus to its latest 1.20.1 release so its Sodium/Embeddium compatibility mixins match your new renderer.
- If you cannot switch to Embeddium in a locked modpack, downgrade Rubidium to `0.6.5` and use an Oculus build released for Rubidium 0.6.5.
- If the error persists, temporarily disable resource packs that alter water or lava textures to ensure a broken resource pack is not stripping fluid sprites.
