Sodium Extra Crash: Name must not be blank (Resource Pack)

What it looks like in the log

java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Name must not be blank

How to fix it

  1. Navigate to your Minecraft instance's resourcepacks folder and move the recently enabled resource pack (such as Faithless) out of the folder so the game can launch again, or remove it from the resourcePacks list inside options.txt.
  2. Update Sodium Extra (and Sodium) to the latest release for your Minecraft version, as newer versions fall back to default text when a resource pack provides a blank translation.
  3. If an updated Sodium Extra build is not available for your game version, open the resource pack zip/folder, locate assets/minecraft/lang/en_us.json (or your active language file), and replace empty string values like "" or " " on entries such as subtitles.entity.generic.splash with normal text.
  4. Alternatively, disable Sodium Extra if keeping the unmodified resource pack active is more important.
