Mod conflictsExtra Utilities 2 Crash: The Validated Object Is Null When Rendering Item
What the log looks like
java\.lang\.NullPointerException: The validated object is null[\s\S]{0,250}com\.rwtema\.extrautils2\.backend\.model\.Textures\.getModelResourceLocation
at com\.rwtema\.extrautils2\.backend\.model\.Textures\.getModelResourceLocation\(Textures\.java:\d+\)
How to fix it
- If this happens on a multiplayer server, check that both your client and the server have the exact same `extrautils2` JAR file in their `mods` folders; remove Extra Utilities 2 from your client if the server does not use it.
- Open the crash report and check the `-- Item being rendered --` or `CCL Has caught an exception` section to see if `thermaldynamics:cover` is listed.
- If `thermaldynamics:cover` is causing the crash, open `config/cofh/thermaldynamics/client.cfg` (or `common.cfg`) and disable cover rendering in JEI, or blacklist `extrautils2` blocks from cover generation.
- If CodeChickenLib is installed, open `config/codechickenlib.cfg` and enable item render exception catching (`B:catchItemRenderExceptions=true`) so broken item models are replaced instead of crashing the client.
- Update Extra Utilities 2, Just Enough Items (JEI), and CodeChickenLib to their latest builds for your Minecraft version (1.10.2 or 1.12.2).
