Launcher problemsFabric: Minecraft game provider couldn't locate the game!
What the log looks like
java\.lang\.RuntimeException: Minecraft game provider couldn't locate the game!
Minecraft game provider couldn't locate the game! The game may be absent from the class path
How to fix it
- Run the vanilla (unmodded) profile for that exact Minecraft version once in your launcher so it downloads a clean copy of the base game JAR, then run your Fabric profile again.
- Check your launcher's versions folder (such as .minecraft/versions/) for any 0 KB or corrupted .jar files, delete them, and reinstall Fabric Loader for that version.
- If this is a Fabric server using fabric-server-launch.jar, verify that the matching vanilla server.jar is in the server directory and is not empty, or re-run the Fabric Server Installer to generate a fresh executable server JAR.
- If you are developing or using a custom launcher that loads JARs dynamically without updating java.class.path, add theJVM argument -Dfabric.gameJarPath=<path-to-minecraft.jar> so Fabric Loader knows where to find the game.
- Update Fabric Loader to the latest version if you are launching a newer snapshot, or confirm that the Minecraft version you are trying to run is officially supported by Fabric.
