Wrong Minecraft versionFabric ModResolutionException: Errors were found!
What it looks like in the log
net.fabricmc.loader.discovery.ModResolutionException: Errors were found!
How to fix it
- Read the bulleted lines directly beneath 'ModResolutionException: Errors were found!' in your crash log—they name the exact mod that failed and the dependency or version it expects.
- If the log says a mod requires a different version of 'Minecraft' (minecraft), replace that mod's .jar in your mods folder with a build matching your exact Minecraft version (note that older Fabric Loader versions sometimes print '1.17.x' when a mod actually requires 1.17.1).
- If the log says 'Minecraft' or a mod requires a newer version of 'java' (for example, Java 16, 17, or 21 instead of Java 8), open your launcher's installation/instance settings and either clear the custom Java Executable path or point it directly to the required Java installation.
- If a required dependency mod (such as Fabric API) is missing or has a non-matching version, download the matching version from Modrinth or CurseForge and place it in your mods folder.
- Update Fabric Loader in your launcher profile to the latest stable version, as older 0.11.x builds can display misleading version ranges in resolution error messages.
