Wrong Minecraft versionSodium / Forge Port Crash: VisibleChunkCollector.visit NoSuchMethodError
What it looks like in the log
java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: 'void me.jellysquid.mods.sodium.client.render.chunk.lists.VisibleChunkCollector.visit(me.jellysquid.mods.sodium.client.re
How to fix it
- Open your crash report (`crash-...-client.txt`) and look at the lines immediately below `VisibleChunkCollector.visit` in the stack trace to identify which companion mod is calling the missing method (most often Oculus, Iris, Indium, Rubidium Extra, or Sodium Extra).
- If you are playing on Forge with Rubidium, replace Rubidium with Embeddium, as Rubidium is discontinued and incompatible with newer versions of Oculus and other Sodium-based add-ons.
- Update both Sodium (or Embeddium) and the companion mod identified in Step 1 to their latest builds for your exact Minecraft version so their internal rendering APIs match.
- If both mods are already on their latest versions, check the companion mod's changelog or dependencies page and downgrade Sodium/Embeddium (or the add-on) to the specific paired version it supports.
