How to fix it

1. Open your crash report and look at the lines directly beneath 'KnotClassLoader.loadClass' to identify which mod is requesting VertexBufferWriter (for example, 'net.diebuddies.physics' means Physics Mod).
2. Check your Sodium JAR version in your mods folder; if you are running Sodium 0.4.9 or 0.4.10, either update Sodium to 0.5.x+ (if available for your Minecraft version) or downgrade the culprit mod to a release made before May 2023 that supports Sodium 0.4.x.
3. If Physics Mod is causing the crash alongside Sodium 0.4.10 on Minecraft 1.19.4, downgrade Physics Mod to version 2.12.2.
4. If Cull Leaves is causing the crash at startup on Minecraft 1.19.3 with Sodium 0.4.9, remove Cull Leaves or switch to a matching version of Cull Less Leaves (do not run Cull Less Leaves together with More Culling).
5. Ensure all other Sodium companion mods—such as Iris Shaders, Indium, Sodium Extra, and Reese's Sodium Options—are updated or downgraded together so they match your exact Sodium major version.
