Corrupted filesjava.nio.file.NoSuchFileException During Fabric or Iris Startup
What the log looks like
Caused by: java\.nio\.file\.NoSuchFileException: [^\r\n]+
java\.lang\.RuntimeException: Could not create directory [^\r\n]+iris-reserved
java\.lang\.RuntimeException: error remapping game jars
How to fix it
- Read the exact file path after `Caused by: java.nio.file.NoSuchFileException:` in your crash log to identify which folder failed.
- If the path ends with `iris-reserved\<version>`, either reinstall Iris using the default `.minecraft` installation directory, or switch to a standard Fabric Loader profile and put the Iris and Sodium `.jar` mods directly into your `mods` folder.
- If any folder or launcher profile name in the path contains an exclamation mark (`!`), such as `Shaders!`, rename the profile or folder to remove `!` so Java can read archives inside that path.
- If the error mentions `.fabric\remappedJars` and `client-intermediary.jar.tmp`, open your profile folder, delete the `.fabric` folder, and launch the game again to regenerate clean remapped jars.
