Graphics and driversFlywheel GlException: mapBufferRange(ARRAY_BUFFER) Crash with Create
What the log looks like
com\.jozufozu\.flywheel\.backend\.gl\.error\.GlException: mapBufferRange\(ARRAY_BUFFER, \d+, \d+, \d+\)
at com\.jozufozu\.flywheel\.backend\.gl\.buffer\.MappedBufferRange\.checkAndMap
How to fix it
- Open your Minecraft instance folder, go into the `config` folder, and open `flywheel-client.toml` in a text editor.
- Change the `backend` setting to `"OFF"` (or `"BATCHING"` in newer Flywheel versions) and save the file so Create falls back to safe rendering without hardware instancing.
- If you can still load into a world without crashing immediately, you can alternatively run the in-game command `/flywheel backend off`.
- Remove OptiFine from your `mods` folder if it is installed, as it conflicts directly with Flywheel's OpenGL pipeline; use Embeddium or Rubidium for performance instead.
- Update both Create/Flywheel to the latest release for your Minecraft version and install the latest graphics driver directly from Intel, AMD, or NVIDIA.
