Graphics and driversFlywheel ShaderLoadingException: Could not load all shaders
What it looks like in the log
com.jozufozu.flywheel.backend.loading.ShaderLoadingException: Could not load all shaders, see log for details
How to fix it
- Update Create and Flywheel to the latest release available for your Minecraft version, as early versions (such as Create 0.3.2 with Flywheel 0.1.0) had a known macOS shader crash fixed in subsequent patches.
- If the game still crashes on macOS or older graphics hardware, open config/flywheel-client.toml in your Minecraft folder and set backend = "OFF" (or enabled = false in older Flywheel configs) to bypass custom shader rendering.
- Remove OptiFine or other shader/rendering mods and temporarily move custom resource packs out of the resourcepacks folder to rule out broken shader overrides.
- Update your GPU drivers directly from NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel, and inspect logs/latest.log just before the crash stack trace if you need to see which specific shader file failed to compile.
