Java version problemsATLauncher Instances Fail to Load on Java 16+ (InaccessibleObjectException: java.awt.Color.value)
What the log looks like
java\.lang\.reflect\.InaccessibleObjectException: Unable to make field int java\.awt\.Color\.value accessible: module java\.desktop does not "opens java\.awt"
How to fix it
- Update ATLauncher to the latest version—if the built-in updater does not run, download the newest ATLauncher installer from atlauncher.com and install it over your existing folder so it uses its bundled Java runtime and updated Gson adapter.
- If you run a standalone ATLauncher.jar file, install Java 8 or Java 11 and configure your system or shortcut to launch ATLauncher with that older Java version instead of Java 16+ (you can still select Java 16/17/21 inside ATLauncher settings for Minecraft itself).
- If you must run an older launcher JAR on Java 16 or newer via a startup script, add --add-opens=java.desktop/java.awt=ALL-UNNAMED to the java command before -jar.
