How to fix it

  1. Update Iris Shaders to version 1.1.4 or newer, where symbolic link detection for the shaderpacks folder is fixed.
  2. If you are sharing shader packs across MultiMC or Prism Launcher instances via a symlink on Linux or macOS, verify with 'ls -la' in your .minecraft folder that the shaderpacks symlink is not broken and points to an existing directory.
  3. If you cannot update Iris right away, remove the shaderpacks symlink in your instance's .minecraft directory and use a regular shaderpacks folder instead.
