How to fix it

  1. Update the Figura mod in your `mods` folder to the latest version available for your Minecraft release, which fixes thread-safety issues with Sodium's chunk builder.
  2. Update Sodium (and Indium, if installed) to the newest version matching your Fabric or Quilt loader.
  3. If you are playing on a modpack or Minecraft version without an updated Figura build, open Figura's settings from the main menu or pause screen and disable custom avatar rendering on player heads/skulls before loading the affected chunks.
  4. If the world still crashes immediately upon joining, temporarily move the Figura `.jar` file out of your `mods` folder so you can load the area safely.
