Reading the logRoughly Enough Items (REI) AsyncSearchManager CancellationException
What the log looks like
\[REI\] Error while searching\r?\njava\.util\.concurrent\.CompletionException: java\.util\.concurrent\.CancellationException
Caused by: java\.util\.concurrent\.CancellationException\r?\n\tat me\.shedaniel\.rei\.impl\.client\.search\.AsyncSearchManager
How to fix it
- Ignore `[REI] Error while searching` when diagnosing a game crash, as it is a harmless background search cancellation and never the actual crash cause.
- Open the newest file in your `crash-reports` folder (or scroll to the very bottom of `logs/latest.log`) to locate the real fatal exception that closed the game.
- If REI is failing to show items or recipes, search `logs/latest.log` for `[REI-ReloadPlugins/ERROR]` or `Failed to run end-reload task` instead to find the actual broken mod integration.
- Update Roughly Enough Items (REI) and Architectury API to the latest versions available for your Minecraft release to reduce noisy search logs.
