Sodium Crash: Exception thrown while executing job (ChunkJobResult)

What the log looks like

java\.lang\.RuntimeException: Exception thrown while executing job
net\.caffeinemc\.mods\.sodium\.client\.render\.chunk\.compile\.executor\.ChunkJobResult\.unwrap

How to fix it

  1. Open your crash report or latest.log and scroll down past the first stack trace to find the 'Caused by:' line, which names the actual exception and any third-party mod package involved.
  2. If 'Caused by:' shows 'NoClassDefFoundError: me/jellysquid/mods/sodium/...', update all rendering add-ons (such as More Culling, Continuity, Iris, Sodium Extra, and Reese's Sodium Options) to versions built for Sodium 0.6+, and remove Indium (which is built into Sodium 0.6+ and no longer needed).
  3. If you are running a snapshot or beta build of Sodium or Iris, replace it with the latest stable release for your exact Minecraft and mod loader version.
  4. If the 'Caused by:' stack trace mentions 'Sorter already used!' or 'MissingPaletteEntryException' with only Sodium classes present, update Sodium to the newest release and temporarily test without parallel chunk mods such as C2ME to rule out worker-thread race conditions.
