Mod conflictsSodium Crash: Overflowed the mesh time buffer
What the log looks like
java\.lang\.IllegalStateException: Overflowed the mesh time buffer at \d+x\d+
net\.caffeinemc\.mods\.sodium\.client\.render\.chunk\.UniformBufferManager\.writeMeshTimes
How to fix it
- Update Sodium (along with companion mods like Sodium Extra) to the latest version for your Minecraft release, as this buffer overflow is a known bug in Sodium 0.9.1.
- If you use chunk-caching or LOD mods such as Bobby, Hold That Chunk, Distant Horizons, or Voxy, lower their maximum chunk retention limit in their mod configs or temporarily remove them.
- Lower your standard Render Distance in Options -> Video Settings to keep the total number of active render regions within Sodium's buffer bounds during fast Elytra flight or server teleports.
