Mod conflictsSodium Crash: "centroid" is null in DynamicTopoData Translucent Sorting
What the log looks like
Cannot invoke "org\.joml\.Vector3fc\.distanceSquared\(org\.joml\.Vector3fc\)" because "centroid" is null
net\.caffeinemc\.mods\.sodium\.client\.render\.chunk\.translucent_sorting\.data\.DynamicTopoData\.distanceSortDirect
How to fix it
- Disable shaders before joining the world or Realm: open Options -> Video Settings -> Shader Packs from the main menu and toggle shaders off, or open `config/iris.properties` and set `enableShaders=false`.
- Remove active resource packs temporarily from Options -> Resource Packs to confirm whether a custom block model is triggering the invalid translucent geometry.
- Update both Sodium and Iris Shaders to the newest versions available for your exact Minecraft release, as fixes for translucent sorting edge cases are included in newer Sodium builds.
- If the game loads normally without shaders, test a different shader pack or turn off shader settings that make extra blocks or foliage translucent.
