Resource packsIris Shaders: Failed to get entry for Block ID (block.properties Crash)
What it looks like in the log
java.lang.IllegalStateException: Failed to get entry for <so>
How to fix it
- Update Iris Shaders to the latest version available for your Minecraft release, as newer Iris builds handle stray backslashes and invalid entries in block.properties without crashing.
- Update your active shaderpack to its newest release in case the author has already fixed the syntax mistake for Minecraft 1.21+.
- If the game crashes immediately when loading a world or switching packs, open .minecraft/config/iris.properties in a text editor and change enableShaders=true to enableShaders=false to bypass the broken shaderpack.
- If you are maintaining or fixing the shaderpack yourself, open shaders/block.properties inside the shaderpack, check the invalid character shown in the 'Caused by:' section of your crash report, and remove any trailing backslashes (\) that precede empty lines or property assignments.
