Resource packsIris Crash: Shadow Program Requested, But the Pack Does Not Have a Shadow Pass
What it looks like in the log
java.lang.IllegalStateException: Shadow program requested, but the pack does not have a shadow pass?
How to fix it
- Update Iris Shaders (or Oculus if playing on Forge) alongside Sodium (or Embeddium) to the latest release for your Minecraft version, as the Iris team fixed this dimension-switching bug in newer builds.
- If you are playing a locked modpack and cannot update Iris, press 'K' (default hotkey) or go to Video Settings -> Shader Packs to toggle shaders off before entering a portal, then turn them back on after arriving.
- Update your active shader pack to a newer version or test with a different shader pack to verify whether the pack's dimension files are broken.
