Resource packsIris Shaders Failed to Resolve Uniform: Ambiguity
What it looks like in the log
java.lang.RuntimeException: Ambiguity,
How to fix it
- Update Iris Shaders (and Sodium) to the latest release for your Minecraft version, as duplicate `if(bool, vecN, vecN)` registrations were patched after Iris 1.7.1.
- Update your shader pack to its newest version, or switch to another shader pack under Options -> Video Settings -> Shader Packs if visual glitches remain.
- If your game actually crashed to the desktop, look further down in `logs/latest.log` or open the latest file in `crash-reports/` to find the real fatal error, as this Iris message alone only warns about a broken shader uniform.
- If you are a shader pack author using chained `if(bool, vecN, bool, vecN, vecN)` vararg expressions in `shaders.properties`, rewrite them as nested two-branch `if(bool, vecN, if(bool, vecN, vecN))` calls.
