Resource packsIris RenderTargets ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException When Loading Shader Pack
What it looks like in the log
java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: null @ [net.coderbot]
How to fix it
- Update Iris (and Sodium) to the latest version available for your Minecraft release, as newer Iris builds properly handle or ignore invalid DRAWBUFFERS characters.
- Check your latest.log for the 'Using shaderpack:' line right before the error to identify which shader pack triggered the failure, then update that shader pack or switch to an Iris-compatible alternative.
- If you cannot switch shaders right away, open optionsshaders.txt in your .minecraft folder and delete the shaderPack= value (or move the broken .zip out of your shaderpacks folder) so the game loads cleanly.
- If you are editing or maintaining the shader pack yourself, search its .fsh files for /* DRAWBUFFERS:... */ comments containing non-numeric letters like 'N' and replace them with valid buffer indices or RENDERTARGETS directives.
