Resource packsIllegalArgumentException: Not enough space in destination buffer
What it looks like in the log
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Not enough space in destination buffer
How to fix it
- Update Sodium and Iris (or their Forge/NeoForge equivalents like Embeddium and Oculus) to the latest available build for your Minecraft version, which includes a fix to properly resize destination buffers.
- Disable heavy 3D model resource packs (such as Default 3D High) in Options -> Resource Packs, or switch to a 'Low' or 'Medium' detail tier of the pack.
- If your game folder prevents you from launching to the menu, open options.txt in your .minecraft folder and remove the 3D resource pack entry from the resourcePacks:[...] line.
- Lower your Render Distance in Video Settings to reduce memory pressure and lag spikes when moving through areas with custom 3D block models.
