Wrong Minecraft versionNoClassDefFoundError: me/jellysquid/mods/sodium/client/gui/options/TextProvider
What it looks like in the log
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: me/jellysquid/mods/sodium/client/gui/options/TextProvider
How to fix it
- Check your `mods` folder for Sodium addons or integrations (such as Sodium Extra, Rubidium Extra, Reese's Sodium Options, Iris, or Physics Mod) and update both Sodium (or Rubidium/Embeddium on Forge) and all of its addons to the latest stable releases for your Minecraft version.
- If you are using an alpha, beta, or unpublished build of Sodium, switch back to an official release on Modrinth or CurseForge so dependent mods match its API.
- If you are playing on Forge or NeoForge, remove any Fabric-only Sodium mods and ensure you are using matching Forge equivalents (such as Embeddium paired with Embeddium++/TexTrue's Embeddium Options, or matching versions of Rubidium and Rubidium Extra).
- If updating does not resolve the crash, temporarily remove Sodium/Rubidium addons one by one to isolate which mod was built for an older Sodium API.
