How to fix it

  1. Open `logs/latest.log` or `logs/debug.log` in your server folder and scroll up above the `AppEng.serverStopped` stack trace to find the first `[ERROR]` or `[FATAL]` message that actually triggered the shutdown.
  2. Check `eula.txt` in your main server directory and ensure `eula=true` is set, as an unaccepted EULA aborts server boot early and triggers this exact AE2 shutdown exception.
  3. Look earlier in `latest.log` for missing mod dependency notices, duplicate mods, or `FAILED TO BIND TO PORT` messages and resolve that underlying issue.
  4. Check the `crash-reports` folder for a full crash report generated right before the shutdown, rather than removing or downgrading Applied Energistics 2.
