Reading the logException while updating neighbours (ReportedException)
What the log looks like
net\.minecraft\.util\.ReportedException: Exception while updating neighbours
How to fix it
- Scroll down past Exception while updating neighbours in your log or crash report to the Caused by: section (and -- Block being updated -- if present) to identify the underlying exception and any mod or plugin package names.
- If org.spongepowered.common.event.tracking.PhaseTracker.notifyBlockOfStateChange or CauseTracker.notifyBlockOfStateChange appears at the top of the stack trace, update SpongeVanilla or SpongeForge to the latest build for your Minecraft version to fix known bugs with open-chest teleports and build-limit block updates.
- Check the thread name in brackets at the start of the log entry: if a block change was triggered from anything other than [Server thread], remove or update the plugin or mod named in the stack trace so it schedules block changes on the main server thread.
- If a specific teleportation, world-editing, or inventory plugin/mod appears in the stack trace right before setBlockState, restore, or closeInventory, update it to a newer release compatible with your server version or temporarily remove it to confirm the error stops.
