Iris ShaderCompileException: NumberFormatException For input string ""

What it looks like in the log

net.irisshaders.iris.gl.shader.ShaderCompileException: shadow_terrain_cutout: java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: ""

How to fix it

  1. If you are just playing with a downloaded shader pack, update the shader pack to its latest version or select a different pack in Options -> Video Settings -> Shader Packs.
  2. If you are editing or creating the shader pack, search your recently modified .vsh, .fsh, and .glsl files (check shadow.vsh if the error mentions a shadow_ program) for bare occurrences of gl_MultiTexCoord.
  3. Add the missing numeric index to the attribute, such as changing gl_MultiTexCoord.xy to gl_MultiTexCoord0.xy.
  4. Save the edited shader file and reload shaders in-game to confirm the compilation succeeds.
